Plastering, resurfacing, tile, coping, and full renovation — coordinated by one contractor, in one drain cycle, with one warranty. Founded by Billy Johns & Joseph Johns. Serving Central Texas since 2004.
H&H Tile and Plaster is an interior-only pool renovation company. We plaster, resurface, retile, recope, and structurally repair pool shells across Central Texas. We have done nothing else since Billy Johns and Joseph Johns founded H&H in Dripping Springs in 2004.
That focus — 20 years of doing exclusively pool interior renovation — has made H&H the most experienced interior pool contractor in Austin, San Antonio, and the Hill Country corridor. We are a certified applicator for Pebble Tec, Pebble Sheen, and every major pool interior finish system. We are the only contractor in Central Texas certified across all major manufacturers. We are BBB Accredited A+ since 2007, a National Plasterers Council member, and licensed through TDLR.
When an Austin pool owner calls H&H, they get the same thing every time: a free in-person inspection, a written estimate with every scope item broken out separately, and a project managed from first drain to final walkthrough by a dedicated project manager. No phone quotes. No scope surprises at drain. No juggling three different contractors.

Austin Pool Leak DetectionThe Austin pool renovation market has a lot of contractors. Most are general pool companies that do plastering between equipment jobs. H&H is different in four specific ways that matter for your project outcome.
H&H is a certified applicator for Pebble Tec, Pebble Sheen, and all major quartz and aggregate finish systems. The only Central Texas contractor certified across all major manufacturers. Certification determines whether your manufacturer warranty is valid.
H&H does pool interior renovation exclusively — plastering, tile, coping, structural repair. Not new construction, not equipment, not decks. Twenty years of doing one thing means H&H’s expertise is undiluted by the full scope of pool service work.
Full renovations — plaster, tile, coping, structural repair — all coordinated within one drain cycle. No second drain cost, no scheduling gap between contractors, no scope ambiguity between trades. One written estimate, one project manager, one warranty.
Austin’s Edwards Aquifer hard water (200–400+ ppm calcium hardness) requires finish recommendations, startup chemistry sequences, and ongoing maintenance guidance that generic contractors don’t provide. H&H has been calibrating for Austin’s water since 2004.
H&H serves the Austin metro, San Antonio, the Hill Country corridor, and the DFW Metroplex. Headquartered in Dripping Springs — central to both primary markets.
Travis, Williamson, Hays, and Bastrop counties. Edwards Aquifer hard water specialists. All service areas from Cedar Park to Kyle.

Fredericksburg, Boerne, New Braunfels, Kerrville, and the corridor between Austin and San Antonio.
Dallas and Fort Worth area pool interior renovation. Same certified crews, same single-drain approach, same manufacturer warranty eligibility.
Recent pool interior renovation projects across Austin and Central Texas — from single replasters to complete plaster, tile, and coping transformations.

Austin is not a generic pool market. The Edwards Aquifer hard water runs 200–400+ ppm calcium hardness depending on which community you’re in. The eastern suburbs sit on Blackland Prairie clay that causes pool coping and shell failures on a predictable seasonal cycle. The Hill Country west is limestone bedrock with its own drainage and scaling conditions.
H&H has worked through every Austin-specific challenge: the post-2021 freeze damage wave across Travis and Williamson counties, the long drought-cycle coping failures in east Austin clay neighborhoods, the scale accumulation conditions on Lake Travis and Lakeway waterfront properties, and the 300+ ppm groundwater hardness that Williamson County communities deal with year-round.
This isn’t marketing copy — it’s 20 years of Austin pool work translated into finish recommendations, structural prep standards, and startup chemistry protocols that are specific to this market. You can’t fake it, and no amount of national branding replaces it.

Call H&H at 512-264-1979 or submit a request through the contact form. H&H provides free on-site estimates — we visit the pool in person before quoting anything. H&H does not provide phone estimates because pool condition varies too significantly to quote accurately without physical inspection. At the on-site visit, we assess the existing surface condition, identify any structural or plumbing issues, and provide a written, itemized estimate with every scope component broken out separately.
Yes. H&H Tile and Plaster is a certified (Authorized Installer) applicator for Pebble Tec and Pebble Sheen, as well as all major quartz aggregate finish systems. H&H is the only contractor in Central Texas certified across all major pool interior finish manufacturers. Certified applicator status means manufacturer-specification application, quality oversight, and authorized manufacturer warranty eligibility — coverage that is not available from uncertified contractors regardless of which finish material they use.
A standard pool replastering or resurfacing project — drain, surface prep, finish application, and initial fill — typically takes 3–7 days for the active work phase. A full renovation including tile and coping typically takes 7–14 days. The new plaster then requires a 28-day cure period during which water chemistry must be carefully maintained. Full cure takes approximately 28 days from the application date.
H&H serves the greater Austin metro (Travis, Williamson, Hays, and Bastrop counties), San Antonio and Bexar County, the Hill Country corridor including Fredericksburg, Boerne, and New Braunfels, and the DFW Metroplex. H&H is headquartered in Dripping Springs, TX on Ranch Road 12, and crews are actively working throughout Central Texas year-round.
For Austin's Edwards Aquifer hard water (200–400+ ppm calcium hardness), quartz aggregate and pebble aggregate finishes significantly outperform standard white plaster in longevity and stain resistance. Pebble Tec and Pebble Sheen are the best-performing options for Austin pools where the priority is maximum durability — particularly in Williamson County communities (Georgetown, Leander, Cedar Park, Round Rock) where Edwards Aquifer groundwater runs 300–400+ ppm. White plaster is still a viable choice for budget-constrained projects but requires more disciplined chemistry management in Austin's hard water conditions.
October through February produces the best plaster cure conditions in Austin — cooler temperatures, lower evaporation, and lower UV intensity all support better finish longevity. This timing also avoids disrupting Austin's primary swim season (April through October). H&H performs plastering and renovation year-round with summer protocols in place, but fall and early winter scheduling consistently produces the best outcomes. Fall booking fills early — if you want an October or November project, contact H&H by September.
H&H crews are actively working throughout the Austin metro, San Antonio, and the Hill Country year-round.
